From February 24-March 16 we had special guests visit us in Mexico. Manu's mom and aunt Lucette arrived just 2 days before my mom. We went on a road trip through the states of Veracruz and Oaxaca.

Visited Teotitlan del Valle to learn about how they make rugs by hand the traditional way.
We visited the famous Dona Rosa Studio in San Bartolo Coyotepec to see how the barro negro (black ceramic) it is made and bring back a few souvenirs. Dona Rosa is no longer alive, but her son regularly gives demonstrations on how to make the barro negro and talks about her story.XOCHIMILCO
SARKO Y CARLA AT THE LYCÉE FRANÇAIS
Every French expat registered at the French Embassy was graciously invited to hear Sarko's speech at the Lycée Français in Polanco. Emmanuel and I politely accepted the invitation!! After his energetic speech, we were spoiled with champagne, cheese and bread!
LA CONDESA
Although Acapulco is infested with tourists and it is a city on a beach...we had to go and show mom what it is really like. It's a 5 hour drive from Mexico City...beautiful road and scenery along the way. We didn't even spend a whole 24 hours...it just wasn't our cup of tea...traffic...fast food chains…. We couldn't even swim in the Pacific Ocean because the waves were too big and dangerous!! :(
The only way to really enjoy this place is if you have a beautiful condo on a quieter part on the beach and never drive through town, (which only has one main street going through)!!
The two most enjoyable parts of our quick trip to Acapulco was sitting on the beach early in the morning and watch it slowly come to life with people, and the other was to see the divers, which is impressive to see!
On the way back to Mexico, we stopped at the Magical Village : Tepoztlan. It's a special little spot...quiet and full of charm.
